Itinerary - day by day

 Distance: 24 km |  Altitude: 600 m | Place: Lake Rarao

Bike set-up and a mellow shake-out along lakeside lanes and small farms. A gentle climb, a breezy descent, and time to learn the terrain. Settle into the place, tune the fit, find your rhythm for the week.

Pucon loop through forest shade and villages, skirting Lago Caburgua, lunch in town, then roll out on the dedicated bike path back toward base. Flowing rollers, easy pacing, plenty of stops for views.

The Trans Volcánica. Slip past Palguín Bajo and climb long and steady through Villarrica National Park—lenga forest, lava slopes—then crest and enjoy a joyful, sweeping descent into the Coñaripe valley.

Smooth asphalt leads to the main gravel climb. Switchbacks, river crossings, and waterfall spray cool the last ramps, then it’s lakeside backroads and a sinuous descent through deep rainforest.

Cross the Andes from Chile to Argentina. Quiet border post, big mountain views, and a two-hour ferry across deep blue water. Honest climbs repaid by long descents and your first taste of Patagonian steppe.

A broad-sky steppe loop with long sightlines and friendly gradients. Pass classic estancias and a handful of bright lakes. Set your rhythm, trade pulls, and let the wind and flowing tarmac carry the day.

Return to Chile on quiet roads beneath Volcán Lanín and ancient araucarias. One sturdy climb, rolling valleys, and a long, satisfying run-in to town—pace it your way and finish on smooth wheels.

Slow morning, last coffee, final look at lake and volcano. Bikes packed, transfers timed to your plans. Head out unrushed, carrying fresh legs, clear lungs, and a head full of bright Patagonia color.
